Southampton were simply outclassed by the best Liverpool team since the 80s. I see a bright future.
Liverpool – 3
Southampton – 0
Wesley Hoedt (OG). Joel Matip, Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool were favorites from the start and Liverpool showed why. Liverpool were the better team all over the pitch and Allison in the Liverpool goal must be earning the easiest check in the world of football at the moment. The Liverpool team look happy all over and as always, it is lovely to see the Klopp smile is rubbing of on the people around him. Matip got a goal and played a great game. That is fucking important in a defence where Virgil seems to important to leave out. It simply seems to good to be true at the moment. Keep it up guys.
Most would probably pick Shaqiri for that great first half, but I’m going for Mo Salah. Finally he got a goal once again and he should probably have scored one or two more. He seemed comfortable closer to the middle and Klopp proved his genius once again by playing Mane, Salah, Firmino and Shaqiri from the start of the game. Salah will once again be scoring more goals from now on and he is to be counted on once again in front of the opponent’s goal. We love you Mo.
Mark Hughes. It looked like grown men against boys and Southampton must be better than that. In the bet we made in the link below, we described how Mark Hughes has never been a man for the clean sheets and that was displayed to the fullest against Liverpool. He just do not look like a coach for the defending part of the game. He should have set his players up better.
