Liverpool – Chelsea

Chelsea were saved by God and Eden Hazard in this game. The best at the moment? Im thinking yes.

Liverpool – 1

Chelsea – 2

Daniel Sturridge, Emerson, Eden Hazard.

Played at:

Anfield Road.

We knew from the start that both teams would make changes, but no one could have predicted that Liverpool would make eight. It showed in Liverpool’s game in the first twenty minutes, but they still defended well and as time went by, Liverpool got in to the game. Sturridge had extreme chances, chances he rarely miss but did in this game. He scored a wonder goal though, which shows that scoring is an art he definitely still remember. Liverpool would have been the deserved winner, but a stroke of luck close to Mignolet’s goal line and some genius moves from a man more worthy of “The best” than Modric, gave Chelsea the win and Liverpool an unnecessary loss.

Game hero:

This was difficult. Eden Hazard could be picked just for that goal, but I’m picking Fabinho for this one. He was not flawless, but I expected a more shaky performance from him than the one he delivered. What a number six he will be. He made tackles, he took part in the combinations and he looked solid on the defensive midfield. As solid as anyone could have looked in that role. He looks more like a clear six than anyone else in Liverpool and I’m exited to watch him grow on Merseyside.

Game zero:

To me it is clear. Dejan Lovren get’s it. In this game we found out just what Van Dijk means to Liverpool. Lovren is no way near the class of Virgil and it showed today. Liverpool were lucky that his problems with judging the high balls didn’t cost them today. A few went over his head and one of them nearly cost a goal. For a minute it took me back to the ugly Tottenham game last season. For the time being Lovren is definitely not a starter.
